One of the best sources of color for the cool-season container garden, Fountain Blue offers larger, earlier blooms than most other Lobelia varieties. You will love the floriferous nature of this cascading plant, which tumbles over the sides of hanging baskets, window boxes, and other containers.
The azure-blue flowers arise among rich green leaves on this zealous little plant. Expect the first, heaviest flush before spring is out, with a possible repeat if the flowers are cut back promptly. Fountain Blue often rests during the heat of the summer, but will also flower in fall in most climates.
Give this plant full sun in the north, a bit of shade in the south or far west. It reaches 10 to 12 inches tall and about 6 inches wide, with a neat, rounded habit and 1/2-inch blooms. Superb for the annual bed as well as containers of all types.
Fountain Blue is a great improvement over earlier Lobelia varieties. Make this fine performer a mainstay of your cool-season flower display, and you will not be disappointed.

Great germination! Can’t wait to get them outside

I started these indoors a few weeks ago, and the seedlings are looking great! Every cell in the flat came up and they are all looking strong. I can’t wait for it to get a little warmer so that I can plant them up in containers outside.

I just recently purchased the biodome and used it to start the seeds. these lobelia seeds have sprouted in nearly every sponge, haven't worked up the nerve to plant them either in a container or outdoors yet. They look so delicate! But I'll let you know what happens when I do.I'm very new at this. Never done much gardening, but wanted to plant one for pollinators. Bought these, milkweed, and asclepias so far. Wish me luck!

Started seeds on heat mat under grow lights. Really good germination. Seeds are have been hardened off outside and ready to be planted. Very satisfied.

So delicate

I planted it last year and nothing much happened. It stayed a seedling all year, and this morning, when I was filling up the bird feeder, I saw the delicate, blue flower. It is in total shade and if you have a lot of patience, I highly recommend it.
